1. Scope
This Privacy Statement applies to all web properties operated by the TryAnApp Application Group, a US-based SaaS portfolio currently comprising:
- TryAnApp — www.tryanapp.com
- TryUnfurl — www.tryunfurl.com
- DrawDecisionTree — www.drawdecisiontree.com
The authoritative list of all sites covered by this Statement is maintained at www.tryanapp.com. Any site listed there is subject to this Statement unless it publishes its own superseding privacy notice. Property-specific practices are available at each site's /privacy page.
By using any TryAnApp Application Group site, you acknowledge this Statement.
2. Our Commitments
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to any third party.
- We do not build individual behavioural profiles for advertising purposes.
- We do not require an account to access core functionality.
- We collect only data necessary to operate and improve our services.
3. Data We Collect
We collect three categories of data, each described below.
Category 1 — Website Activity Data
Automatically collected when you visit any group property. This data is anonymous and cannot be attributed to any specific individual. It includes standard request metadata: IP address (used transiently for security and geographic aggregation only), browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages accessed, and anonymised session identifiers.
This data is used solely for performance monitoring, usage analytics, security, and debugging. It is retained in full for 12 months, then aggregated indefinitely in anonymised form with no event-level detail retained.
We may also use browser-local storage (cookies, localStorage) to persist convenience state on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers and can be cleared via your browser settings at any time.
Category 2 — Personal Account Information
Voluntarily provided when you choose to create an account. Account creation is entirely optional. This category comprises:
Common Profile Data (shared across all group sites for single sign-on): display name, email address, account credentials, and account timestamps. Passwords are stored in hashed, non-reversible form. As an alternative, you may sign in via Google or Microsoft, in which case no password is held by us — we receive only your verified email address and display name from the provider.
Property-Specific Settings: additional preferences or saved content held by each individual site and not shared across the group.
You may update or delete your account at any time via account settings. On deletion, all account data is permanently removed. Residual encrypted backups are purged within 30 days.
We may use anonymised account behaviour to improve our services and may use your email address to send product updates and information about other group properties. All marketing emails include an unsubscribe link as required by law. We do not share your email address or profile data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Category 3 — Subscription and Billing Information
Associated with paid subscriptions. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Stripe, Inc. We do not store payment card or bank account details. We retain a limited subscription record (plan status, dates, and a Stripe reference token) for the duration of your subscription and for seven years thereafter for tax and audit compliance.
4. Advertising
Some group properties carry display advertising via Google AdSense to help fund free-tier services. Where advertising is present, third-party cookies may be used to serve personalised ads. We do not pass your account information to any advertising network. You may opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Paid subscribers may access an advertising-free experience where available.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Common Profile Data is shared across group properties solely to enable single sign-on. No other personal data is shared across sites or with third parties for commercial purposes.
